Accounting, Finance & Audit Talent Search for Insurance Companies

When it’s Crowded at the Top, Map the Market

You’re at the VP level and ready for the next step. But as you move up the ladder, the ladder narrows, and openings don’t necessarily appear as a job posting; they surface through timing, relationships, and visibility. That’s why it pays to shift from job search to market mapping. Ask where new entities are being built, where private equity money is flowing, or where transformations are underway. Look sideways and diagonally, not just up. Instead of occasionally scanning listings, track where change is happening. Market mapping keeps you focused on finding the right situation, not just the right title, and while it takes some diligence, it’s sometimes a better, more strategic way to uncover opportunity. Place yourself where momentum is building, because that’s where your next step may just appear.

2025 Recap:

It’s been a solid year with activity and growth across many areas. Life/annuity continues to see meaningful momentum, with private equity backing new carriers and asset managers expanding platforms. The P&C/MGA model is driving top line and reinsurance demand remains steady. As investment complexity rises, there’s greater need for talent fluent in both private equity and insurance. For actuarial, carriers want technically strong leaders who can also partner with the CFO, CAO, ALM, and corporate development teams on strategy and modernization.

Wishing you all the best for the holidays, and see you in 2026.
